by no means is this a Marzocchi bash. I would just like to get some Opinions before i call Marzocchi on this..

I went to Chicago to ride CPX and hooked up with a few dude for a ride in Downtown Chicago this past weekend and this happened to my fork....

I'm am an experience Mechanic and know you cant crank on these drop out, this was done taking my wheel off. The fork is about 16 months old, and I dont NOT abuse my equipment.

this is the third time Ive had problems with my QR20 DO's. Twice before I have had Diffrent problems. Marzocchi has taken care of both of the other problems. (second time I had to make three calls to find my parts, but no biggie) Do you folks think this should be a warranty issue?

I sure do.

anyone else out there with a similar QR20 problem, please no Marz. bashing beside these small issues I love both my Marzocchi's this is an 03 JR t by the way.

well it doesnt make a difference weither you're putting it on or off since it uses a cam type clamp, meaning it'll pull harder and stress the area as you un-clamp it as well. All you can do is to call Marz about it.

I would think they'd design it like qr levers, making it impossible to over-stress the part because you simply wouldn't be able to tighten it without a cheater bar of some sort.

good luck.
That looks like a warranty issue, but who knows what they'll say.

This seems like as good a time as any for me to ask this... What the h3ll is qr20 even good for? I've had both standard 20mm and qr20 and can't see a huge convenience factor in the qr20 other than you don't have to have two allens. Is that all it is, a claimed convenience factor? 20mm is just as quick IMO. ??? If I could have gotten my Z1 with a straight up 20mm instead of qr20, I would have. I wondered if something like what happened to you might happen to mine if it was to take a hit.
dont care for it much either

it not at all easier than standard 20MM thru's. I'd prefer to opt out of the QR thing too, but i guess we're stuck. the new rock shox maxel thing looks promising....

yeah, i've seen and heard of it happening to others. give marzocchi a call
