what do you guys think of this, http://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut990 ?

I am right in thinking all I will need to do is get an optic, battery, switch and heatsink/housing and I will have a 7up xpg light?

I got one of those boards and unfortunately cannot recomend it. Control on the dimming is iffy and the switch control points to solder are non existent little pin heads.
sorry for being not fully correct recommending my own products, but what if you try 2-3 L333 boards linked as master-slave? There's a very nice housing done by Matt for a dual-board setup:

when two A-types are used it may provide up to 2400 OTF lumens.

L333 all configurations (more that 70 options available): https://www.lux-rc.com/view.php?p=content/products/light_engines/3UP
