Saturday 8:00 am meet at Macedo Ranch Staging in Alamo if interested, (would like to be home before noon) or if you're on the other side of the mountain we can meet at another meeting point. Going to explore Angel Kerley Road, Burma Road and Mother's Trail. Fair amount of climbing. If I am too slow motor on w/o me, if I am too fast I'll happily wait.

Sounds good. I learned tonight going up Burma would be insane. So perhaps we'll head up BBQ Terrence over to Juniper and down Burma.

(You missed a GREAT ride tonight. Fun ride with awesome weather!)

I would love to go... but I have to work. If you like pain and suffering, going up Burma is a good idea but I would recommend up BBQ, take the Summit road (it's a trail) to Juniper and down Burma. Mother's trail is a short ST and I find it's more fun to stay on Burma. It's a longer ride and fast too ! If you stay on Burma, turn left just before the 2 "drop-off" that takes you to Northgate Road. Then go up Angel Kersley to another ST on your right called Diablo Ranch Trail. It will take you back to the Northgate road.

While it sounds like a great ride, I committed SoD and myself to morning family breakfast plans. We will likely ride somewhere local in the evening - can anyone say "Briones?" Although, maybe we'll go over to China Camp for a frontside loop.

Well actually I think I talked LJ into a slightly different route on Diablo. We are going to do Oyster Point starting from Dan Cook.

You'll have to show me that loop sometime. We altered our route we're going to head up Dan Cook to Curry Point then take Oyster Point ST. (still never been on it) Then climb out and figure were to go from there.

27.56 miles, Epic?

Not really but add the 101 temperature and it surely feels like it. Great ride Dave thanks for showing me a new loop. Although Oyster Point (IMO) wasn't that great. But nevertheless it was new, and it was fun and did I mention - HOT? Some photos...

I'd highly recommended waitint till the cool down in fall. It was hot out there in the exposed areas. The tree covered portions were warm, but felt so much better. I only took a few photos, most of which LJ also took.

And we do need to find a better route than Riggs Canyon. It's stupidly steep! But given the temps I think it was our best option than going around which could have added x amount of miles, which means more time in the heat. A nice October day will be great and we'll explore the route you first suggested.

I'm all for a late October early November repeat. So by my deluxe Polar geek device we ended up with 25miles and about 3700' of climbing. So yes we would have extended the distance a bit and depending on if we climbed out Curry Canyon or went by balancing rock the elevation would change a little.
