I've historically ridden a med. But was wondering if a large will be too big?? Does anybody have the TT mesurements for pre-DW spot?? If I go large with a shorter stem would there be an advantage in climbing or techy descending??

TIA

Effective top tube was 23in vs 23.9in. At 5'9" I would go with a medium. I am 5'10" and rode a large with a 70mm stem but it always felt a bit long in technical sections. I am now on a 23in efff top tube bike with the same 70mm stem and 1in wider bars and am a much happier camper.

Does anyone know why the top tube shrunk so much when Turner went to the DW link? It has to be one of the shortest if not shortest top tubes in its class for each respective seat tube length / size.
When the TTs were longer, people complained, now they're ridiculously short and less people complain. Go figure.

5 spot medium

Medium for sure...

I am 5'10.5" and I rode a medium 2008 spot with a 100mm stem. I would say I was the top end of range for the medium Spot. It never caused me any issues and I like the ability to get behind the seat if needed. I just sold it and bought a DW Link Flux in Large and with the shorter top tube, it is just right.

Hey Robert,
I'm the guy who bought your 5 spot earlier this month. Thanks for the great bike at such a great deal. Anyways, sizing wise, I'd go with the medium. I'm 5'9" and ride a medium frame with a 100mm stem. climbing feels just as good as my hardtail. Downhill, I felt the reach was too long for me and had me leaning forward during small drops or any technical downhill, even when I tried to sit back on the bike. I'm probably gonna shorten the stem to 90mm or 70mm.

06 medium using a 100mm x zero stem, straight post and easton low riser.
