What wheelset are you guys running with the 575? Wnat to upgrade from disc build and do not know which wheelset to get. Rode one yeti with the crossmax sl and that was sweet. But little too pricey. Looking to spend around $450 or less. Some suggested Mavic Crosslands, or Crossmax enduro. Others say try 717 rims and wtb laserdisc lite. Just wanted to keep weight down and not spend too much money. Thanks

I got some Mavic 717's on Hope XC Hubs for $289 from Jenson. They work great, light and make a pretty nice sound down hill. Plus they are $himano-free :D

I noticed Jenson no longer has them on their site but if you call and ask them they may be able to hook you up. I've dealt with Wayne in the showroom (not mail order).

Not sure what excatly "keeping the weight down" means to you, but I'm running DT Swiss 4.1 rims, DT spokes, and Hope XC Hubs. Price was about $350 and weight is something like 1800g. They are surprisingly strong. They are by no means an XC race wheel, but a very, very good all-mountain wheel (IMO).

I just wanted to update this post. It appears that I may have jinxed myself with my earlier recommendation of the 4.1d rims. On a ride Friday after work, I taco'd my front wheel. I was very frustrated as I hiked back to my truck, and vowed to go with top notch wheels in the future (mavic, spinergy, etc.). But then I got to thinking that I probably would have bent those wheels just the same, as it was a pretty nasty wreck, and I'd much rather have to replace the $150 wheel than a $300 Spinergy.

I still recommend the 4.1s - good value on a good wheel.
