I have been thinking about this alot-

nukeproof makes a 44mm internal top/external lower headset for tapered forks. Finding a straight 1 1/8th steered lyrik is quite hard, but the tapered ones are all over.

my question is this- anyone done it? Also, is the HT on the Xam deep cup compatible?

or, simply just use a lower cup like this-
Cane Creek's trick new lower cup size will allow frames with 44mm ZeroStack 1 1/8" head tubes to use tapered steerers. Photos | Cyclingnews.com
