I purchased a Wolf Componenets 40t cog. I am trying to install it on a 10 speed 2016 Salsa Horsethief GX. Specs are.......

SRAM MTH 746 12x148mm boost rear hub
SRAM 1030 11-36t cassette
SRAM GX Type 2 long cage rear derailleur
10 speed

I have removed the 15t cog and one spacer, however when adding the 40t cog it puts the whole stack out to far to be able to screw the cassette "nut" on.

Any ideas?

By chance did you buy a 40t for a shimano cassette ? I am using an E13 40 tooth Shimano extended cog on a 11-36 t sram and it was tight I had to remove one spacer and use one that was .010" thinner to get the lock nut on.

The Sram and shimano 40t are different thickness
