the bigger the suspension the more it will weigh, so, If you want to ride it up the hill you'll want the lightest bbig hit you can find. I have a Enduro pro with the fox 36 fork 4"-6" adjustable ,weighs 32lbs
Also the bigger suspension bikes are usually stronger

In general...

In general, as travel increases, so does weight. At the same time, pedaling efficiency decreases, especially when hammering out of the saddle. Also, as travel increases, frame geometry is increasingly biased toward stability. On short travel bikes, the bias is toward quick, precise steering.
