I just switched my cranks and added the mrp 2x, for the change from 3x10 to 2x10. I still have my X7 front derailleur and shifters, and I have that dialed in perfect. My only concern is that maybe I should switch the rear derailleur to a shorter cage, maybe medium. Right now it's a X9 long cage. I'm getting a bit more chain slap then I expected. Is a medium cage more ideal for a 2x10 setup?

Otherwise, this setup is perfect. The shifting is smooth, virtually no noise at all. Wished I had done this sooner.

A medium cage should give you a little less chain slap, and provide marginally better (more crisp) shifting.

That said, if it were me, I would just use the long cage until you break it or it wears out, then get the medium cage. There shouldn't be any more chain slap now than you had when you were running the triple up front.
