32-33mm wide rims?

It looks like the Hunt Trail Wides(alu) in a i33 is no more as their trail wide is now a i30mm rim. I'm looking for alternatives to that wheelset in 29er 32-33mm range. This will be for a 2.6 tire setup.

Hi there, the hunt trailwide rims have always had an internal width of 30mm, the enduro wides have an internal width of 33mm and play nicely with 2.6 tyres! I'd definitely recommend the enduro wides, ridden the last 3 season's with them, great set of wheels that don't break the bank!

For just a bit more money you could have a wheelbuilder build you up a set of wheels with Race Face Arc 35 or Stans Barons, double butted spokes, and Bitex hubs, which will be about 100 grams lighter. Stans also sells the Baron S1 wheelsets for $499.

Yes that's that the one I was thinking of the enduro wide. Didn't realize it's 33mm front & 31mm rear cause their site says 31mm internal(use to say 33mm) until you click on in then says 33f 31r. I was hoping 33f+r.

I want to go that route with Kinlin rims, which I think are the OEM for Hunt(but not seeing i33 rims there). What's engagement on the bitex hub? I'm digging the idea of Nukeproof Horizon hub, which has about 3.5° of engagement, but they don't sell it stand alone nor can I find who make it.

My question is why would you want to run Kinlin rims? They are not very good. Bitex has a 54 poe. For another $100-150 on a custom build you could also step up to Hope or DT Swiss 350 hubs. If it were me, I would save up for a build with the Race Face Arc 35 and DT Swiss 350s. Will build up at about 2000 grams, are durable and reliable, and will give you years of service. Expect those to run you fully built from a good builder $700-800. $200-300 more than what you are looking at is nothing to sneeze at, but you are getting a lot of value for those extra dollars. (Personally, I would use Mikesee from Lacemine29 who is a regular contributor here.)

An inexpensive alternative is pick up a takeoff set of Ibis S35 wheels. They should run you under $400.

I was thinking Kinlin as they are the OEM for Hunt wheels & those seems to get positive reviews. What hub does IBIS use, is it upgradable? How does the S35 rim compare to RaceFace? My last gravel bike I had Raceface AR25 & liked it. Is the ARC just ligher version of the AR or is their shape different too? My current gravel bike came with the CX rims with DT 370 hubs & has been good for how I ride it(including some blue trail). So, not opposed to DT Swiss either.

Really the Nukeproof Horizon wheelset is pretty what I am looking for at the right price. But, at i30 it's a bit narrow for 2.6 wheels.
I'd didn't see the Stan's Sentry S1 & MK4 listed here or Astral Serpentine both come in ~i32 size. $100 for Sentry and 125 for the Serpentine.
Stans Sentry rims are 32mm. Baron are 36mm. I prefer the former for 2.6's and the latter for 2.8's.

Just 2mm larger, but...Spank Oozy Trail 395+. 35mm ID. Have had a set for 2+ yrs now, they've been bulletproof.

How does it ride? Is it heavy?
Sun Rigle Duroc is i31 and SD37 is i32mm wheels and could be what you are looking for. Would 30mm be a little too narrow for 2.6 wheels or would it be fine? I don't want to the tires to be bulb shaped? Plan to ride 2.6 front and 2.5 in the back for my al mountain sled.
