2KX, Here We Come!

The year 2009 has shown me fantastic times including mountain biking in and around the various shipping ports in Northern Norway, outstanding endurance racing opportunties, copious amounts of commuting mileage, and incredible trail-riding in and around my home state of Arizona. Even with all that, I cannot wait to turn the lights on out 2009. It has been a year of intense personal challenge for me. Additionally, many of those around me have not fared well this year either with economic hardship and interpersonal strife.

So, to conclude the year and celebrate its passing, I took advantage of mid 40's weather and did one of my favorite 20 mile night rides; this one from my house, to Warpaint, and back on the Desert Classic trail, then through the township of Guadalupe and back to Tempe.

This dandy little loop never fails to bring me out of a funk, and tonight was no exception. Without ever leaving the 5th largest metropolis in the U.S., I got to feel, taste and smell that cool crisp clean nightime desert ambience while enjoying a moment of solitude while alone in the rocky shadows of sage and saguaro. Even the coyotes were silent tonight. I have begun to reconciled the trials and spoils of 2009 and can now look forward to 2010 and beyond. Can you?
