I've been watching the 29'r trend for a while but due to shoulder injuries/surgeries I feel I need an F.S rig and I'm 5'6" with a 28 inch inseam and the frames look a bit big for me but Ventana and Titus offer custom so I'm about ready to jump. who makes a lighter 29" rim? Any opinions on the White Bro's fork? Thanks.

You should be able to find lots of info that has been posted here on the WB fork, rim choices, and frames for folks in your height range. These are very popular topics on this board.
