Just wondering what your suggestions were fore 29er tires in houston I currently have the bontarger xdx tires and I dont like the front grip. I ran a crossmark rear ignitor front combo on my 26er that I liked just trying to get a different opinion.

Im loving my set-up...im running a Kenda Nevegal dual compound in front and small block eight dual compound in rear. SB8 is perfect for the dry conditions...but when it's softer i'll run Nevegal's front and rear. I feel the dual compound helps tremendously on those slippery roots but try and stay off the concrete cause that eats em up!

I really do like the Nevegal as a front. I'm thinking of trying the new Slant Six as a rear next. It looks like a cross between a Nevegal and SB8.

I'm a 26er but Nevegals will allways hook up here but they are really heavy. SB8's are the same compound and much lighter. Karmas are even lighter and hook up pretty good!

Don't they make ardent and crossmark 29er tires?

That's my ideal combo right there.

i have 2.4 Ardents front/rear on my 29er and i love them. very fast tires, and more than enough grip for the trails around here. light also!

Thanks for the replies guys I ended up going with the ignitor front and back combo they had a sale on jenson $29 per tire so i figured I would try them out

I run Furious Freds front and rear in Houston but I'm Insane so go with a Rocket Ron front (now in 29er) and Fred rear to haul ass or Racing Ralphs front and rear for tons o' grip.
