I am about to go into the garage...its is supposed to snow tomorrow and I will not ride my steel Land Shark in snow...so I am going in to fit a 44t on the Salsa Mamacita. 44 with an 18t rear freewheel. Discs of course. IRC Notos or whatever they are.

Wish me luck...and post your 29er commuters please.

Jesus Christ!

Your winter commuter is a Vanilla? What do you take out when you want to ride your "nice bike?"

Ft. Collins Co.

The bannana belt of Colorado. Not to mention they don`t salt the roads here. They slime them with some god awful chemical that gets into and onto every thing you own.:)

Ernesto...good luck. Will 44 tooth clear the chainstay?

Here's your old monkey!

A pic from a couple years ago after getting bogged down in snow.
And a pic of it doing it's best impression of a euro commuter bike.

I ride an old road frame converted to fixed gear with 700c wheels with cyclocross tires (Geax Crossblades 29mm) with 60mm 26" fenders. I live in Wisconsin as well and I don't think the salt will be a problem. I rinse my bike off fairly often in the basement of my workplace and I framesaver all my frames.

forgot to recharge the camera's batteries. But tonight you'll see her in her splendor. I slapped on a 44 Vuelta chainring on old LX cranks with whatever bolts I could find in my bag of tricks.
I have to switch tires. Pushing those tires seemed eternal.

Long live the Mamacita.

Then again, I work from my home orifice so my commute is rather short...like 31.23452345623 feet or 38.234523452345234 feet if I decide to piss or dump en route.
