Hi, Has anybody tried this conversion yet on their 27.5 plus Dragon Slayer ? I picked up a set of Mavic 29er wheels the end of last season to do it with. Fit them with Maxxis Minions set up tubeless. Fit on bike is perfect, plenty of clearance. Only have a couple of short rides in on it so far, but feels pretty good. Any one else do this and have any feedback. Thanks

How's the conversion treating you? And what width tires and rims did you go with?

Nevermind, did a little snooping and found the answer:
Hi, I put a set of Mavic XA elite 29ers on my bike last year. running Maxxis minion tires 2.35. Super light and stiff.
So new question, how much wider do you think would fit?

That was a typo , they are 29 x 2.3s but there is alot of room. I think that 2.4 's would be fine in there, but not sure that larger than that would work.

They are treating me well. for a 34lb bike that thing is quick and nimble, I also tried out an absolute black oval 32t chainring. I dont feel that weight at all. when I ride my 26 " aluminum dakota, which is a great bike, it rides heavier feeling then the Dragon Slayer.
I am overall extremly happy with this bike.

Thanks for the update. It's also goodto hear about the oval chainring; I've been wondering how one would fit.

I was really hesistant to try the oval ring, but a coworker convinced me to try it saying that I would never go back to a round ring. So I tried one. I remember the old shimano biopace and thought that it was a great concept, but it never felt just right. The absolute black one i have is amazing. with no load you can feel it kinda have more tension, then less and it revolves, but once you get moving it's pretty awsome. it feels even, and the bike is faster based on times of identical runs. find that i dont have to drop down so far in gearing when climbing either.

Just got a Dragonslayer frame myself and was wondering about this. I have a 29" wheelset that's 142x12...maybe I'll grab some new end caps and give it a try once I have the rest of the parts for the bike. All I have is the frame since none of the parts from my other single speed will swap over directly. I mean some will...brakes and fork but I don't want to use the fork I have. It's a Fox 32 and I want something beefier and 27.5+ capable.

Anyone have a 26+ dragonslayer and going to 27.5? Just trying to figure out what I can squeeze. I saw a guy on Instagram running maxxis ardent 29x2.4 on a 27.5+ model. if I could fit 27.5x2.4 on the 26+ model I'd be extremely happy.

Hi, The 26 plus dragonslayer can handle a 27.5 x 2.4 tire, but not all tires are equal when talking sizes, some are alittle bigger, some smaller. The frame looks like it has plenty of space for it. My son has the 26plus dragonslayer now running 26 x 3" tires currently, but if he gets more into it, I may get him a set of 27.5 wheels for it, and run some 2.4's, Probably a WTB tire, trail boss maybe, so not super aggressive. I have the 27.5 plus dragon slayer and have run 29 x 2.35s with plenty of room, 27.5 x 3 Cannollis and 27.5 x 2.8 terravails, have plenty of space with any of these tires.

My gf has one of the 26+ DragonFlys, and it clears a 27.5 x 2.6 Vittoria Mezcal, even with the dropouts slammed all the way forward. I’d imagine the same goes for the 26+ DragonSlayer.
