Sounds like the tire is not seated correctly,you have to make sure the wire,or kevlar bead of the tire is seated in the rim evenly all the way around each side of the tire.some are more finicky than others.It seems the rim will just be a little wider than the casing of the tire,if the rim is really 2.1'' wide.
