CST tires are good quality (they make Maxxis tires) at a nice price. The Ouster or Heathen might be the right tires for you. Wire bead models are under $20 and folding under $35 at most places.
price point has kenda blue groove 2.35 sticky for 19 bucks.
I like the butcher as well, great soft rubber compound, but on most my wheels they are barely over 2.2 inches, kinda small for a front tire.
