24 in rear on a bullit

I was wondering what a 24in rim would do to my 2004 XL bullit with Zocchi Jr. T's. I'm 6'6" and love my bullit the way it is, but I found a pair of atomic rims for sale for a pretty good deal. 26in F and 24in rear. I know its a stupid question but would it take aaway from my 7"travel in the rear. I am trying to do the the math at it appears it would make it 2in's shorter in the rear. I will only be using the rims for downhill, since I have a set of D321 for cruising around on. Anyone any advice or perspective on it. I searched the messges boards and came up with 500 hits....few too many. Thanks
