24 Hours of Pisgah

This is a shameless plug for an inaugural event a friend of mine is promoting- 24 hours of Pisgah. That's right, Sept 19-20 will see the 1st annual (we hope) running of the 24 hours of Pisgah event. Go to 24hoursofpisgah.com for more information. Much of this course will be extremely technical, with new, hand-cut trail and long challenging descents with rocks and roots. The venue is incredible- CABINS FOR FREE FOR THE FIRST 60 teams, cafateria for food, lake for swimming, NUDE BIKE JUMP INTO THE LAKE AT THE END! This really will be an fun, locally flavored, super-beautiful, highly technical event- it is being held in the "east coast Mecca" of Pisgah, on top of the amazing venue. OK, enough promotion, just go check out. Peace.

Are the climbs going to be anything like they were last weekend at Mt. Mitchell?

I don't think I could survive 24 hours of that.

Not exactly. First, it's about a 10-mile loop. There will be extended climbs, some of which I've heard are pretty tough- but there won't be anything as long and consistently painful as the climb up Curtis Creek. Furthermore, if you do it as a team, it's quite a bit different vs. doing it solo. Solo, there's not going to be too much "race pace," so that also will be different from Mt. Mitchell. Check out the website- lots of info there. Peace
