is there a adapter out there that is for sale (and where to get it) so that it is easier to use a thru axel hub on an ordinary truing stand designed for a qr. or doe sany body know of a home made alternative that can be use to easiley adapt a 20mm hub to a truing stand that is made for a qr skewer. thanks much for any help.

Park makes one for their truing stands.

There are also adaptors that slide into the hub and then fit into the stand as normal.

thanks much for the great help i was wondering though do those type of adapters allow the wheel to be trued on a one sided truing stand (ultimate tools one) or do they have to be used on a normal truing stand that has two arms for both sides of the hub.

These are the 20mm adapters that I use (Problem Solvers brand) and they work great with my one-armed Ultimate stand.
