As someone who has both a Balance and a 27.5 Jedi, the Jedi is still faster. The Balance is a great Enduro bike, but there is something magic about the Jedi.Caught a few laps closing day today with an AF local that got to take the new Jedi for a spin last weekend. He thought it was amazing, but he normally rides his Speshy Enduro up there, so perhaps any proper DH bike might be amazing (although he wasn't to enamored of the rental Commencal mullet he tried for a lap today). Maybe hit up Neal P. on the NM board; I heard he got to ride a few laps with Lance last weekend, but I haven't seen him since to ask about it. I hear (2nd hand) the bike is ready for production at this point and they're just riding it hard to find failure points. Being a CB fanboy, I'd buy one sight unseen, but I don't think it'd make me any faster (less slow?) than I already am on my Balance. My problem is old age and a lack of skill, not the bike.

That's not what I need to be hearing, Stripes! If CBR brought a demo truck to Angel Fire next year where I could try both the ONE.2 and the new Jedi back to back, I'd probably hand them my credit card and promptly sell the Balance. As someone who has both a Balance and a 27.5 Jedi, the Jedi is still faster. When I was looking to replace my Megatrails (yes, I had two--one as a "trail bike" the other for gravity), I replaced them both with a Balance. I was debating between the Balance and the One.2, but I could see myself not being happy with a one bike quiver. So I set my sights on a used Jedi (the two women who I take clinics from are former DH pros who ride Canfields). That's not what I need to be hearing, Stripes! Yeah, I followed Juan and Bethany for a few laps, and they were swapping bikes. I headed home before she had the shop swap out the 27.5 for 29 rear on the Commencal, but I'll be interested to talk with her next week and get her impressions. Was the local a dude named Juan?
