Return of the legend. Introducing the Canfield Jedi 29. One of the most revered downhill bikes is back and faster than ever before. But big wheels are just the beginning. With a redesigned frame, linkage layout and suspension kinematics, the all-new Jedi does what many thought impossible and improves one of the most iconic gravity machines in nearly every aspect.

Going back to the drawing board on our flagship DH bike was no easy task. With a pedigree stretching back more than 20 years—from the first Big Fat Fatty Fat prototypes to the most recent 27.5 Jedi—there’s a lot to live up to. But also a lot to build on. Having refined rearward axle-path multi-link designs for over two decades, I knew exactly what I wanted—and what I didn’t want—from the latest downhill bike to wear the Jedi name.

The result not only surpasses expectations, it leaves them in the dust.

So glad the Raw option is back!!! Please bring it back for all the models. People usually recognize my balance from afar because of the raw finish and mentioned Canfield is one of a few companies that do it. IMO, it's a signature finish for Canfield bikes.

Thanks for a proper XL size as well. That was my one complaint about the one.2

Me too -- and my chief reason for buying a Lithium in lieu of a One.2.
That said, I'm really glad I have a Lithium. Truth is the Lithium is all I need.

As for the Jedi, I don't even want one and I want one.
That doesn't even make sense and yet it does. :)

Not at this time. It's designed as a full 29er and that's what we officially recommend.

Mullet would lower the bottom bracket approximately 6mm and slacken the head angle about half a degree.

It won't void the warranty or anything, just not what Lance designed it around.

Don't be afraid of the big wheels—this bike does everything so well!

Any plans for a mullet version?

The XL is a BIG bike, but feels so good once you get it on the dirt.

Sorry, not sorry, Patt! ;)

I'll have to try it. I'm on the Lithium and get buzzed by the rear tire with my short legs.

I can’t do 29ers, mainly because they really feel too high for my height and are really hard for me to turn. The butt buzz isn’t fun either.

I’ve tried a few, and i just feel too high on them.

I've gotten used to 9ers if they fit me right. Since I do a lot of slow techy stuff. Can't beat the roll over. It did take a while to get good at turning them. I've OTBed once with the Lithium on a drop from butt to rest wheel contact. I learned quickly where that Rear wheel is lol.

I don't know how tall you are, but at 5'4"-5'5", they really feel great in a straight line for me. Downhill. That's it. I test rode a buddy's Lithium. I felt over turning it in the parking lot. The parking lot. Yeah, I'm not designed for bigger wheels. I feel like I'm riding the mast of a sailboat.

If I didn't have to turn or go uphill, I'd get one, but even DH bikes you have to turn.

I'm 5'6" long torso. Leaning a 29er to turn felt exaggerated for a long time. I found them better for tech climbs and flat tech so I got used to them.. The Riot was my second 29er. High speed tight turns I prefer the mixed wheel sized bikes.

I'm not sure I can even exaggerate it with my t-rex arms. Still glad I found a 2016 Jedi. :) Even with the smaller wheels, it knows how to use the Force.

At Trestle: "I hate this trail, nothing but braking bumps."
me: "What braking pumps? Oh, you mean the guides that tell you when to let off the brakes."

I feel you on the Trex arms. I used to powerlift and had a heavy max on the bench press. But I can't un-rack the bar from its resting spot. I need to use the safety pegs lol. Worst case I'll get a used Jedi.

I can't wait to get this bike, I am beyond hyped. I am especially stoked to release all the details for the limited Jedi edition EXT shock that will coming on it for those who ordered it. Should be pretty soon.
