Hi everyone,

Just ordered a small 2019 Spec Enduro Comp 29.

I'm 168cm (5'5") and I'm thinking whether this bike would work well running a 27.5" rear? The factory setup is 29x2.3 rear 29x2.6 front. I'm thinking a 27.5x2.6 rear isn't going to change the factory geometry that much. Thoughts anyone?

I modeled it up in bike cad using the 'high' flip chip setting. From the looks of it the geo will be .1 degree slacker (65.4 HTA 76.1 STA) and the bb 3mm lower running a 27.5x2.6 rear in the high setting vs running 29" f/r in the low setting. Weight is within 20g given tyre/wheel weight differences.

Will any of the changes be felt? Good job on measuring them up though!!
The overall diameter will be interesting to measure, I'm sure someone will have done it.

I'm not sure there's enough of a difference to ruin the ride. I'm thinking it's within margin of error of the Specialized 'engineered' geometry in the low setting to not make a perceivable difference.

I should add my goal is to have 2 setups available without messing with the flip chip. Keeping it in high, I'll run the 29ers with fast rolling XC tyres, and the mixed wheelset to run more aggressive tyres. It's easy enough to switch wheelsets back and forth between the two. Might also finally let me go n-1 on my collection.
