Looking for some insight from anyone who has had the chance to ride a 2017 vs 2018 Scout, or knows someone who might have. With the 2018's out now, there are some decent deals on 2017's out there, looking for some feedback on anyone who has rode both.

Most obvious differences:
The 2018 features SBG, 150mm fork, 130mm rear, 65 headtube angle, 425 chainstays, boost, and 1189 wheelbase (Medium)

The 2017 features 140mm fork, 125mm rear, 67 headtube angle, 425 chainstays, 142 rear and 1147 wheelbase

Thanks!

I've owned the 17 Scout and now have a 18 Patrol. The 17 Scout is awesome, no question, and the price is nice. Downsides for me would be buying a new bike that isn't boost (which is lame to say but as far as selling the bike in the future, buying new wheels, etc.) the other factor would be if you want to get a little more rowdy, that new travel and the fox shock with piggy back are going to up the capability of the Scout quite a bit. Lastly, the SBG difference is legit. The previous generations Transitions were awesome bikes. These new ones really are a step up (you can see my short review of the Patrol in the forum). In a nutshell, more capable downhill while also being more mild mannered on climbs and flats. So I guess it just depends on how much money you want to save. Never a bad idea financially to hang back a generation or two!

Another question I️ have is what inner width are the gx build wheels, ethirteen doesn’t list a different wheel other than the trs+

I think it's the same; it's just an OEM rim that's pinned instead of sleeved to make it a little cheaper. Otherwise identical to the trs+
