I ordered my xl rival online and they shipped to my local REI. My store does not stock them on the floor.I have seen both the NX and rival in a large at my LBS. No XL though...
Yeah I looked online and they no longer have the XL as a option.. Was thinking about a 2016 deadwood also but realized the new 2017 fargo has 20mm more reach more than the deadwood and at 6'4 well I think it might be a better fit on the new fargo.I ordered my xl rival online and they shipped to my local REI. My LBS that sells Salsa showed zero XL as well, BUT it said they would be available 3/21...just xl complete bikes. I'd call your REI or LBS and verify. They all are looking at the QBP dealer page.Yeah I looked online and they no longer have the XL as a option.. Yep, I wanted a frame only as well...Availability seems to vary a lot if you're looking for a frame or complete... I am looking for a frame and just heard from Salsa that they're effectively sold out until 2018 model is released...?!
Seems a little crazy.
So did you get it? I'd love to see some pictures. My bike shop guy informs that he has put my name in on an XL Fargo GX. He reports delivery to be the first 2 weeks of April.
Wish me luck, Boys.
Cheers,

Make sure you have a source for the boost alternator plates...they're very rare apparently.Buell,
Thank you, but I don't think that it is. I'm under the impression that different crank components are necessary to provide the spacing. I'm going to go ahead and upgrade the rear wheel to 148 boost, and check out some WTB tire options, and ultimately determine if mods are needed for chain clearance.
Wish me luck.

I'm sorry. I thought that both the 27+ and 29er versions would both be setup boost. It looks like the 29er is setup 135mm qr.Buell,
