Yikes, it's March and we don't have a picture thread yet?
Well, nothing too spectacular to post, but it's a start.

Our Local Norcal Loop...(Granite Bay)

Ventanations' leader on his Zeus....

Birthday boy Kevin on his Ciclon

Followed by Big Bro, Dustin and Pops, old schooling on a Pantera and V1 Chucho!

BTW - the dry, dry very large "Beach" in the background? That's supposed to be underwater! And that's an improvement, as we started calling Folsom Lake...Folsom puddle, it's upto to Folsom Pond at least now.

Thanks for getting us started Ciclistagonzo!

From two weeks ago now, Sycamore Canyon NW of Los Angeles. There was a huge fire here last year, and with little rain this winter the return of vegetation has been slow, very slow. The burnt out trees and blackened sticks of manzanita makes you feel like you're riding on a different planet.

The Old Skool El Salt is a good choice for a longer day out here, though the Terremoto is sure a lot of fun on the downhill sections.

Ole!

Continung the fun..

Here's few more from the latest Weekend ride. (3/22 Sly Park Loop, Pollock Pines, CA)

Steve, on Chucho...

Me, same spot as before, but different angle, better exposure! Pics of me thanks to Steve doing the shooting...

Sly Park loop is good shape with some obvious TLC given to it, the bridges where needed are evidence of it.

Glamour shot!! The waterfall behind is stunning contrast to the trickle that was there in January.

The South side of the lake, the trail gets more techy and is on the edge of the lake more. I love this section..

Close up of the same drop from before, about 18" drop, the old girl (08 Salty) handled it with ease of course...

Much of the before credit goes to these guys, I knew what to expect on my shock rebuild, having had one done before, but the Push Fork rebuild is nothing short of amazing.

Big thanks to Teresa for getting me the V jersey in time to sport on the trail. It is a great looking jersey!

Lupine Adventure
Last weekend (5/3) we went to one of our usual ride locals, Granite Bay, but having been informed that the North Fork Ditch Trail was rideable, we decided to explore a bit. Super glad we did. New trails are always fun and the conditions are amazing, not trail wise, it's a simple if a bit sandy singletrack but the Lupine show was awesome:

Lupines everywhere, Kevin in the front, Dustin in the middle and Sherwood farthest back.

Rolling terrain and the trail flowed around it nicely

Said "Ditch" before the dam and lake were created this was used for water supply:

Trail follows the ditch which closely matches the lakes shoreline. The lake in the backgound has slowly been rising, our water situation is still bleak though. (And hey, that's me! Photo cred:Sherwood)

Every wonder why Granite Bay is named Granite Bay?

Our usual trail is incredibly green right now thanks to some late spring rains, drawback is the Poison Oak has taken off as well. Evil, evil weed! (Sherwood on Central trail)

Here are a few from this weekends Ride..

South Fork American River Trail or.... S FART for short.

Green, VERY, VERY green. Late spring rains (for us anyway) have helped with an explosion of green. PO is everywhere but with careful line selection it's not too bad.
On with da Pics!

Kevin

Switchback central...

Last Pic, these two young'ns are getting too fast for me to take pics, I have to race ahead and spend the next 20 minutes recovering way off the pace to survive!

Me in action during the 24h Round and Round relay race in Spokane a few Weekends ago... Rode my custom El Chucho 29er front/27.5 rear. It's mostly an Alpino frame with a modified front triangle geo to accommodate a big wheel. The bike was just perfect to ride on an endurance event.

Very nice. How much travel are you at on the fork, 120mm?

Very nice. Is the head tube angle still the same? This looks very interesting.

I am not sure what the headtube angle ended up being. My idea was to have it like the Alpino (68.5) but I let Sherwood decide so it may have ended up being 69 like the Chucho...

My classic Ventana. Still going strong. The bike now resides in Australia, shuttled around in a diesel powered Toyota (that alone was worth moving here for). Ready for a Saturday morning ride.
