Hey Guys,

Here's a NOOB question: My brother in-law pointed to his two recommendations for the money, which include:

2014 Motobecane Elite Adventure - $420

2014 Motobecane Elite Adventure X5 - $500

I haven't been riding a bike for over 15-years, and now that my two boys (3 and 5) are old enough to ride on their own, I figured it would be a good time to invest in a bike that will last for another 10-15 years.

I'm not sure if spending the additional $80 is worth it to go from:

Front DerailleurSHIMANO ALIVIO FDM430
Rear DerailleurSHIMANO DEORE RDM591SGSL
ShiftersSHIMANO ALIVIO SLM430 27-SP (27 gears total)
BrakesTEKTRO NOVELA DISC BRAKE FR/RR 160mm Rotors
Brake LeversTektro Aluminum Black Polish Finish

To:

Front DerailleurSRAM FD-X5-HC-A1 TOP PULL
Rear DerailleurSRAM RD-X5-A1 BLACK CAGE
ShiftersSRAM X5 TRIGGER 27-SP (27 gears total)
BrakesTEKTRO DRACO Hydraulic DISC FR/RR 160mm Rotors
Brake LeversTektro DRACO Hydraulic Aluminum Black Polish Finish

Can anyone recommend making the jump to the X5 bike? Or perhaps suggest something else? My riding will be mostly on roads and some light trails, nothing heavy duty.

Any feedback is appreciated.

:)
