Assembling my new A9C with a straight steerer fork. The frame came with a small, aluminum crown race and an integrated headset. Since the crown race was for a tapered steerer, competitive cyclist sent me a devo baseplate (1 1/8 to 1 1/4 adapter). The question is after pressing on the devo baseplate, then do I still put the larger crown race on, then the lower bearing? If I don't use the 1 1/4 crown race in between the bearing and devo baseplate, the OD of the baseplate doesn't sit up inside the lower part of the headtube.

Not sure what a devo baseplate is but niner sells the converter that is for their headset. I dont recommend mixing and matching headset parts from different companies.
