I'm new to mountain biking and have been researching and trying to decide on a bike. I've come across these 3 for the exact same price. Just want to know some people's opinions. They are a 2008 4300, 2007 4300 with new crank chain sprocket and derailer, and a 2011 3500. All at $250 right now.

How tall are you and what size are the frames on each bike. They are all entry level bikes and component spec will be similar. I would go with the bike that fits best.

My wife rides a 2011 4-series trek. It has been a great bike and I feel the frame is worthy of upgrading parts when stuff begins to wear out. The added plus to the frame is having disc mounts in place but the current V-brakes are more than fine for her. If you plan on discs later you may want to consider the frame.

I'm 5'10'' about 145-150 but my inseam is 32'' so I'm kinda inbetween sizes on the size chart. I went and road the 3500 and the yellow 4300 today. Turns out the 3500 has a 16'' frame, guy thought it was an 18'' so it's out. Really liked the 4300, it was a 19.5''. Going to look at the blue one and an orange 4300 Monday. Thanks for the reply's! Sounds like the 4300 will be just what I need.

Someone bought the 2008 before I could come look at it so now I'm just looking at the 2007 4300. What do you guys think is a decent price for it? It has a few scratches here and there but nothing major. All new drivetrain parts.
