I'm about to pull the trigger on a new fork, not sure to go air oil coil though.

I've always been a coil fan due to the small bump compliance, and overall reliability; however, I have tried a couple of well-worn Solo Air forks and was blown away at how plush and linear they were. If I had been blindfolded I wouldn't have been able to tell it wasn't a coil.

I'm not really into the Two-Step thing so I've got it narrowed down to either Solo Air or coil, DH damper. It's going to be paired up with a CCDB coil shock, FWIW.

I'm not terribly concerned w/ the weight difference, either way it's a big fork; I'm more concerned with plush & balanced (w/ the rear end).

Thoughts from anyone who's tried both by chance?

TIA!

I'd go Totem coil, with the DH damper. I bought a 180mm fork last month, and when I was doing my research, it seems the Totem coil was more plush than the air, but some people still took it apart and lubricated the seals ..etc to make the fork ride really plush.

It's pretty easy to convert between the coil and air with a Totem, so you have options down the road.

I ended up with a 2010 Marz RC3 Ti FWIW :)

How do you like that rear shock BTW? I chose to MX mod my DHX 5 coil vs picking up a CCDB.
