i got a stock 2011 stumpjumper comp 29 (bennies pedals and a cheap quick release seat clamp). i got the s-works renegade tires on it now (stock) and i plan on buying the captain elites after. what upgrades could i add to increase performance and maybe loose a pound or too. looking for cheap upgrades, like stuff under $400 109.jpg

Not going to do be able to do too much for <$400. Wheels are the big one, for a few hundred more you could loose almost a pound. Have you converted to tubeless yet? That is a cheap one. Seatpost/stem/hbar often are always a good bet to drop a bit. Your tires are WAY light and if you put Captains on it, you will increase the weight likely more than the upgrades I have mentioned above. Finally, a nicer cassette is another way to drop some pounds, the stocker is likely nearly a pound. What is your standing weight right now?

i was thinking seatpost (reccommended from mechanic at local bike shop, he rides a 2012 stumpy) which will be like 140, and maybe handlebars at 120. ill be working at the shop this summer, so i will get good deals, so i may be able to afford other stuff

Are those delta weights or total weights of the parts?
