When I was shopping for a C'dale, I checked out the Quick CX4. I hesitated because of the cable/disc brakes as opposed to juice, and overall something just felt like it was lacking, it just didn't have that "take me home" feel to it so I ended up getting a Bad Boy disc which is so close to the quick cx4 but the one I got was a build that has juicy brakes and pretty much upgraded stuff over a factory issue bike, but it had that feel I was looking for and wasn't getting with the quick cx4. I didn't want suspension on a city cruiser, but if you like the way it feels and rides, it looks like a good choice. Next build for me will be suspension/disc/trail for sure.

Any thoughts on this bike?
I'm occasionally on a single track, but mostly riding on bad roads, straightaways, uneven sidewalks and also going on long bike rides for distance riding.
Basically, I want a durable bike that can handle horrible Florida road and sidewalk conditions and that will also be good for urban commuting and to go on a simple trail.
I love the feel and look of this bike but I have not yet decided on what I want. It's at the height of my price range.
I know there are folks that don't like the "hybrid" style bikes but for me and how I ride it seems like a logical fit, perfect for my type of riding but I have never owned a bike like this, only full blown mountain bikes (all Cannondales).

I have an old Scott Tampico, with some upgrades for similar use: some training, commute and turist. Is not bad because geometry is similar to my all-use MTB. Is also good for commute because people don't pay atention to it, but, if I think about buying a new bike, for this use, will be probable something similar to:

Get a Badboy , more suitable for occasional singletrack and you can get a Lefty Solo with Headshok. the Quick is more of an urban bike.UrbanTrailRider said:Any thoughts on this bike?

one would need to get wheels built up if taking the BB solo on singletrack because of the lefty hub right? This is presuming you want to run with typical mtb tires (I suppose 26x2.0 and up)? The stock 700c wheels are 700x28c Kojaks and you have some limit to how large a tire you can fit on the Headshok lefty as I understand? 38c maybe? Also it's twice his price ceiling.
Honestly the Quick CX3 sounds quite reasonable for what he is looking to do and comes with 37c tires (cross/trekking size?), certainly okay for light trails..I've done this with 38c tires (Schwalbe marathon cross) and it's been just great on smooth non-muddy non-rocky trails...AND it's at the height of his price range, the BB Solo w/ headshok sounds like a deal breaker. I like the BB Solo and currently have one on order so I'm not hating at all but.
I cant vouch for the suspension forks or quality of the mechanical disk brakes to be honest as I have no experience with them. I do have experience with Avid BB5 and BB7 mechanical disk brakes and think they are superb so if these tektro's offer similar performance I think you will be happy, but again, I simply have no experience with them to lend an true opinion.
Check to see what size tires you can reasonably fit on that bike and if you have trails that demand you have bigger tires with some cushion I have done just fine with 2.0" tires for XC and trail riding so if they can fit that size I think you will be good.
Truly looking at what you want to do you dont sound the extreme of either end of the range and are looking for a versatile bike that is 'good enough' for all round road, fitness, commute, lite-offroad, It also looks rather comfy. I think you have picked a good bike for what you are looking to do..
Understand about hybrids tho..jack of all trades and master of none so it wont be as good as any dedicated road bike on the streets nor as accomplished as a dedicated mountainbike on the trails but it just might be good enough.

I don't think the BB is good for dedicated singletrack - but it will do as an occasional bike.
