Ashland super d bike setup

We're planning our first trip to the Ashland Super D. I would be interested in what other people are riding there. What would you choose between a 4" XC bike and a six inch 30lb+ bike?

Always a tough question to answer. What events have you done before?

Most people familiar with say, the Downieville Classic would say our trails are much smoother. There's a lot of flat sections to pedal, but the downhill sections are super fast and a bigger bike could forgive any "mistakes."

People can ride on any bike here and have fun. I'll be using a Trance X as I feel it's the best tool for the race. Considering my fitness, I'll need every ounce of help I can get.

Thanks for the reply. I've ridden Downieville, Weaverville, Stupid D at Sea otter and technical trails at home. Riding a 26 pound, six inch travel bike would be a no brainer, but the one given we have is that we will be picking something that is already in the garage. Looks like we will be spending our disposable income on gas to get TO the races this spring.

The tickets can be purchased at our shop and other bike shops in Ashland starting May 1st as well as at the AMC event.

From what I hear much of the lodging is already booked up for the weekend in Ashland. You may want to look at other cities North. Talent, Phoenix, Medford, Central Point. I would say most lodging is good in our area. There are a few roach motels in downtown Medford I would stay away from.

Well… it Snows, it Rains, the Sun comes out… It rains some more!

This must have many of you wondering, what will happen with this race. IT’S ON!

We had the Upper Bull Gap road Plowed and yet it snowed another foot on it! But it’s warm and it’s raining! The snow is melting fast below 5500′ and we are clearing the lower Bull Gap Trail of debries and dead fall trees. The descent is rolling great! All the trails below that are in incredible shape due to some great work from Local riders pitching in after the “Spring Thaw” Race.

The forest Service and Mt. Ashland Ski have our backs and we will be making every effort to see that all competitors have an awesome experience this year as every year!

Our sponsors have come through with some great prizing as always and we just added “Sanding Stone Brewing” as the beer Provider, or what ever you like at the establishment with a $5 coupon for every racer.

So… get registered if you haven’t already, make you plans, prep your bike and get to Ashland for a fun filled weekend of riding, racing and hanging out with friends!

Hey all,

I raced last year, is the course any different? I heard rumor that one of the roads was going to be replaced by more trail, is that what White Rabbit is on the trail description?

Just assuming here, as I haven't asked, but the course should be exactly the same.

The addition of more single track is up to the land managers, since the trails called "Missing Links" aren't exactly legal. (yet.) ;)

Anyone want a entry for the Chainless/Super-D ?

Hey Guy's,
I'm on a Wildfire in S. Arizona and won't be able to make the races. Since theres no exchanges or refunds I'd like to hook a brother up (or sister for that matter) with BOTH entries.
Please PM me.

Thanks Beaverbiker

I think I have someone that will take my entry. Not looking for $ just didn't want it to go to waste if possible.
Thanks for the offer beaverbiker. Being a firefighter makes things difficult sometimes when scheduling races (I also missed the Anglefire National). But you can be sure that I'll try and make it to Ashland next year.
