why would they have sliders on the Rockhoppers and an EBB on the gray bike above?

The grey EBB model looks to be a dedicated SS bike(maybe the hanger was a photoshoot mistake), the RH delivers the option of going SS via the sliders.. The red bike seems to be a dedicated external gear rig. More focused at the higher end it seems.

hmmm, the grey and red bikes don't look to be M4, but are stamped SL. Could Speci maybe have come out with a new aluminum between M4 and M5?

...it's M4.5.

Argh, I probably could have saved a few hundred $$$ if I would have waited a while. Thats cool though, I love the new ride and have no regrets

First one is a Hardrock, right? I do think its cool that they are adding so many budget options.

Meh...I see nothing there that interests me.

What forks are those? Obviously I can read Tora on the last 2.

First fork looks like a suntour, the next two are RS darts.

Interesting that the seatubes are curved a bit Jones-style to give more tire clearance, but they have the FD cable mounted on the rear of the tube and it runs "straight" down to the FD, pretty much negating the benefit of the curved tube...

29ers trickle down to the Hardrock.
It's a good thing. Hardrocks are good bikes, cheap and cheerful.

I got my Hardrock 29er today. Oh and I removed the swooshes.

If the red one was a ss then it would be cool...
