Just finished building it, hope you like it. The frame size is XL, does the weight seem high for the way it's setup? I hoped it would be under 20 lbs, similar in weight to eliflap's Scalpel, when he still had the mavic wheels. He does have a medium frame size, but im not sure wat the weight difference between M and XL is.

The list of specs is under a similar post in the weight weenie section.

eliflap i was referring to the set up you have on the first page of your thread http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?p=4183841. Im just looking at the pic where it weighs 8.76 kg and you definitely have still had the FSA bars, one piece stem, stock chainrings, and no tubes rotors. So without chaining my wheelset wat you reccomend changing to get it under 9 kg. Is it harder with mine cause of frame size, but isnt the new lefty lighter?

weight loosing is however to be compared to use of bike ... and money

race or normal trail without anyone at your back ?

i ride in the second way , escaping from nobody

so i can mount a light cassette , a light chain saving 100 gr both ( recon and kmc )

a light rotors saving another 100 gr ( scrub's , stans if available , carbon ti )

a light carbon saddle saving another 80-100 gr ( ax lightness , tune ...and so on )

A few heavy parts: FSA bar is claimed around 130 but usually weighs much more, Mavic wheels are always quite heavier than claimed, Avid brakes are heavier than the Maguras... but, 9.5kg is pretty good IMO, especially with such a large frame. Mine (08 medium) with the SLR wheels and heavier UST tires, same bars, 08 Lefty SL weighs 9.6kg...
