2008 Khs Xct 555?????

My lbs has a new 2008 KHS XCT 555 I can pick up for $1100. First question, is that a good price and will it suit my riding.

I live in north central Florida. Will be riding mostly at Santos and San Felasco areas. I currently race BMX (38 expert). Currently my trail bike is a 1997 Schwinn Moab. Plan on hitting some jumps nothing super big.

i take it. the bikes i came down to were the jamis xam 1 and the 555. the xam had a little nicer spec, but the khs is pretty nice.

my opinion i would want to get a bike with 7006 series aluminum if you are paying that much..i got a 2009 jamis xam I for 1299.99 from jensonusa...its awesome but they just have the frames now :\

It will be fine for your intended uses and the price is ok too for a new lbs bike.

they still have the 08 which is pretty much the exact same bike except for the color and lack of iscg tabs.

The 2008 XCT series are 700X series for the main triangle and 600x for the seat and chainstay. The 09 XCT models are reversed, 600x main traingle ... The 08' XCT555 listed for $2300, not too much difference than the XAM of that year. The XAM is a little better spec'd but the XCT is a nice bike, I have a Jamis XLT and and XCT, both great bikes.
