Will CONTENENTAL DIESEL 26 X 2.5 tires fit on an '08 Dakar XC?

My understanding of the Dakar XC (Just like the older Dakar and Dakar sport) is limited to 2.3, I remember reading it somewhere in the specs.

well since I'm OCD lol I was reading reviews of that tire and they say it's more like a 2.3 and not a 2.5 I also just looked at my bike and believe I have enough clearance. So here goes I'm going to order the tires and see how it goes.

If anyone has previous experience with this tire and/or tires of similiar size on a dakar XC please post up!
