Has anyone got any opinions on the new 2007 XTR Cranks. The rings on my XT hollowtech need replacing and I was thinking of replacing the whole crank.
I believe the fitting is slightly different with no pinch bolts on the non drive side and a collar to preload the bearings. Does anyone know if this setup is hard to install and if you need any specialist tools except for the bottom bracket bearing spanner.
I read somewhere that the finnish on the can wear quite quickly.

That is quite an upgrade.

Replacing the cranks because teh rings are worn?

THe finish on the 07 is supposed to be way more durable than the 06.

If you have the $, go for it.
