build it up and post some pics, congrats on the new frame!
Thanks!!
The build is going slow. I'm wanting to have it ready for our next race on May 18th.

I have found out the hard way that most of the components off of a Trek 4300 frame won't work on a Haro frame. I guess I hadn't done my homework.
Finding out what thread size the V brake post for the rear has been the most difficult.
I thought they were 10mmx1 threads, but it now appears that they could be 1.25 or maybe even 1.5. I'm going too use a 10mmx1 tap on the one boss that I crossed threaded trying to install a V brake post from the Trek. If the "new" threads hold for a 10mmx1 post, then I'll use the tap to the other boss.
Then it's a guessing game on the bottom bracket, I ordered a 68x115 and 68x118. Hopefully one of them will be the correct size to use with the Bontrager cranks off of my Fuel 70.

This is as far as I have gotten till more parts arrive.

Well here's the finished product. V brakes, 8 speed and several Bontrager components.
I guess it's an 06 and not an 07, since the seatpost is 30.6.

The 10x1mm tap on the brake bosses worked.
And the BB (68x115) was the correct lenght for the cranks, giving me almost a 50mm chainline.

more upgrades

Here's some more upgrades that I made to my V4.
WTB Rocket V seat

Avid Single Digit 5 VBrakes

Richey Grips, Richey Severe Condition Riser Bar and Shimano 8 Speed Shifters

The only Trek/Brontrager components left are the rims. That can wait till I upgrade to disc.

When you coming to Sokol again??
Harrison
Not sure. For the next 2 weekends at the Noxubee Trails we've got work days planned to reroute a trail from a mudslide.
I'll be sure to post on the WAMBA email list next time we head that way.

While I'm here.....
Last week I installed a LX Rear Derailleur. Works great and looks really cool.

Update Sept 2010

A few more upgrades to the 2006 V4.
A 27.2mm Cane Creek Thudbuster seat post, a Cane Creek seatpost shim (27.2 - 30.6) and a Lizard Skins CrudBuster.

Here is the V4 in action back in July at Raccoon Mountain.

Sorry, can't resist the bike porn shots!
