Hello all,

I recently got a frame replacement/upgrade from trek to the 2007 EX7 frame from my 2006 EX7. I have had the same front fork a Reba Race for almost three seasons now, it is getting a little worse for wear so I am looking to replace it.

I like the travel on the Reba being at 115 mm and am wondering what people would recommend in the 100 - 120 mm range for the 2007 Trek Fuel EX 7 frame, I am considering the fox float but just wondering if there is anything else out there.

In terms of what I want on the fork, I would appreciate external height adjustment and a lockout.

Thanks in Advance

Well for external travel adjustment....

the Float is out! You can change the travel but it's a "move the spacer" project like the Reba. It depends on your budget. Fox does make the Talas, but it is SPENDY! Ranging from $600 for the R to $725 for the RLC! For the geometry of the new EX 7 I'd take a serious look at the RS Revelation 426 in either Dual Air U-turn or Coil U-turn. The dual air adjusts from 100 to 130mm, and the Coil adjusts from 85 to 130mm. Both have lock outs with adjustable blow off threshold, and the longer travel and axle to crown height of the Revelation should compliment the geometry of the longer travel 07 EX frame. And they are a bit more affordable ranging from $435 for the Coil U-turn to $570 for the Air. I'd recommend a look at Marzocchi as well, but they don't produce much in the way of eternally adjustable travel forks. For the features that you want, the Revelation fits the bill.

I am actually considering the Fox 32 F120 RLC it is a new fork for 2008 offered by Fox. It has all of the features I want, but is set at 120 mm travel, which is pretty close to where I ride the Reba at (115mm) most of the time anyway. It is also pretty light at a reported 3.56 lbs.

I am willing to give up on the external height adjustment, if I can get a fork with travel at 115mm or 120 mm.

Any thoughts on this fork or any user reviews of the F120?

Cheers

Hey XC23 -
The '07 Trek Fuel EX7 comes with a 130mm fork -
I have the '07 EX8 The stock 130mm Fox Float is PLUSH!
FYI The 7 and 8 are the same frame only a different color.
I mostly XC, but I also downhill, and jump on the float and it feels great.
The geometry is prefect!

I'd say go with a 130
