"INTENDED USES Cross Country/Marathon"

...if that helps; you may want to swap it at purchase time for a burlier fork depending on your ride needs.

Yes the fork has warning stickers on it stating that, but the description for the bike says:

"The 'Adventure X hardtail' series has been designed with more of a Shore-style influence for a rider who wants to develop their skills and move towards a more aggressive style of cycling.

All the models in this series use oversize heat-treated aluminums for optimum weight and strength."

There really are not many 4-5" forks in that price rance that are actually stated as appropriate for hucks.

As for 4/5 inches, not positive, but i'd be willing to bet 4.

Not a warning...

the intended use is from the mfr, and it's not a warning, it's just an indicator, just like NORCO says their bike is Norshore-like in design built for abuse.. IMO I wouldn't take Norco's word for how to use a fork they don't make any more than I'd take Marzocchi's word for what bike frame to buy based on their fork designs.

So what have here is a 'shore influenced frame maker with an XC fork. Why? Ask Norco's product manager I guess.
