On Fox's website, they list the Vanilla R rear shock at 175 grams and the Float RP3 at 195 grams. Weight weenies list old model Vanilla's in the 400 gram range, similar to the 2005 DHX. Since the 2005 Vanilla is still a spring coil, and the 2005 Float RP3 is touted as the "lightest oil-damped air shock on the market", is anyone else out there surprised that a Vanilla is listed as lighter than a Float?

Can anybody independently verify it one way or the other?

thanks

maybe this is the weight minus the spring?

thanks for the reply, it must be weight without spring. I figured Fox would give a weight with a standard default spring, since I didn't see spring type as an option on the first vendor website I checked. However Universal cycles gives it as 175 grams without spring so that must be the deal.
