Anyone know? My lbs said they had the 2005 catalogs so I'm going to try and make it down there soon to check them out. They have a 2003 Rainier but they're asking $700 which seems a little steep on a 2 year old bike. Can anyone list the stats and color for me? Thanks.

Well turns out he was mistaken and they just had the 2004 catalogs. Still if anyone knows any of the stats I'd be appreciative.
It would be similiar to the 2004. Probably the same the level of every thing, probably a different fork, but maybe not better. Possibly a change of brakes aswell.
The Frame should stay the same and the bikes won't be THAT different.

Well there were a good number of changes from 2003 to 2004 so I was just curious. Fork, derailleur, shifters, crank, saddle, rims, tires, cassette, and several other things were changed.

Well I know with the new NRS2, only the forks and a small drive difference.
It willl always get a new colour:)

Hehe yeah. I was surprised with all the changes on the 2004. I think I might just grab one of those. The SRAM X.7 shifters and RD sound really nice. It's also got a decent saddle. I saw the exact same one at the bike store selling for $60. They got rid of the Giant brand crank that everyone *****ed about too (although they first changed it on the 2003.5's). The rims also to be of good quality. The fork isn't so hot but at that price range you'll probably have to replace any of those forks eventually.

too much

$700 is a steep price tag. Performance is selling the 2004 Rainier for $599.

I own a bike shop in the Chicagoland area and sell the 04 Rainiers for $720.00 so a 2003 for $700 is outragous. For the 2005 Rainier no one knows yet, but upon talking to people at Giant USA we can expect some nice changes. Look for upgrades on the fork and of course color change but also look for some SRAM components being put on some of the 2005 models. Im not sure if the Rainier is one to get the SRAM components but lets hope so.

Have they told you when to expect the 2005's?

Also the 2004's have SRAM components.

SRAM X.7 real derailleur (the front is a Shimano Deore)
SRAM X.7 Trigger shifter
SRAM PG-950 cassette

The X.7 stuff got really good reviews.
