I e-mailed SC.......

With this very same question, and they said they were putting all this together to be presented at InterBike in October. Its only speculation (on my part), but hopefully we'll see wider rear triangle yoke (to run fatter tires than 2.25's), and perhaps different pivot bearings and ?reinforced head tube to run 5" forks under warranty. Probably different rear shock options, as SPV technology expands. Maybe some Blur owners who are dealers and shop owners can come on-board and enlighten us "riders on the far side" ;)
New rear end?

Just got a new Citrus Blur (frame was assembled on 7/27/04) and it is bossless (no V-brake mounts) and has a ton of tire clearance with a Continental 2.3 Vertical Pro (not the largest 2.3 tire). This must be the new rear end for '05. Here are a couple of really bad pics. Also there is a plug in the front to keep out the pebbles and it came with the '05 Fox RP3 shock.

On my "ancient" 2004 frame with full Lizard Skin chainstay protection that is rubbing the knobbies off my "ancient" Hutchinson Python tubeless 2.1's.
Got an email today

I recently got an '04 blur and it came with the '05 Fox RLT fork.

That's funny :D

I feel the same way, It's like SONY, buy now and 4 - 6 months later you're on the "old" stuff... :p
So is the new rear triangle compatible with older frames....

So has anyone established whether the new rear triangle is compatible with the older front triangle? In other words .... Will I and others be able to buy the new triangle design for our 2003 and early 2004 frames?
Thanks!

Could you take a few pics of the upper & lower linkage? Other threads have mentioned that it has been updated a little.
Any trouble with ankles / wider rear triangle.....

Any trouble/cleanance issues with wider rear triangle and clearance between ankle and triangle when pedaling? I have heard about some people with the Heckler having this problem....

I email SC a few weeks back asking about being able to use a wider tire for winter biking and they said I could upgrade my rear triangle using my warranty replacement on the frame. So if it is under warranty, there is a cost, I did not get around to clarifying as my Blur got stolen about 3 days later.

Now I am going to be ordering a new one and know that I will be getting it with it.

----From 8/23/04 Email from SC

We will start having new style Blur swingarms with increased tire clearance (up to 2.5" on average) and no rim brake bosses (Disc brake only) available over the next 2-4 weeks. These will be the same as the 2005 frames.
Just the swingarm itself is different. The links / bearings / hardware used is all the same, and the new style swingarm will be available for upgrade on older frames. It bolts right up.
If you have interest in upgrading your swingarm to the new style, you can use your original owners no-fault/crash replacement warranty For all warranty info, assistance and other customer service of this type, please contact our Sales Office direct at 831-459-7560 and ask for Willie - Ext #224.
Remember to leave your phone # and relevant contact info if you get his voicemail. ---------
