I just bought a 2005 Santa Cruz Blur for my daughter to get into mountain biking. The bike is in pretty good condition: frame is clean with very few dings, linkage is all tight, brakes are good, etc. Suspensions keep air pressure, but hydraulics are weak to. But since Fox stopped selling rebuild parts for these units, we'll go with what we have for now.

Drivetrain could use some love tho and before I do an overall of the drive train, I would like to know if it is possible to do a 12 speed conversion on these bikes at a reasonable cost. What's required? Will the chain line be reasonable?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm running an older V2 nomad 2011 and a couple years ago I did this. Just take off front shifter assembly, and find an appropriate NW chainring to gain back some range, clean it up. Older new parts are available if you look around. I love how it turned out. Good Luck and have fun.
