Hey just got the chance of a nice deal on a 2005 888rc 200mm with the stock crowns will this chopper out my 04 gemini 2000 too much ? I think the head angle is 67 with the 170 mm breakout

youll need to get adaptor cups, i am wondering the same thing for a 2006 with flat crowns on a gemini

Flat crowns.

For a Gemini frameset, at least get a 888 with the flat crowns.

I think the 888 with flat crowns and 200mm travel is the same top of crown to axel height asthe 170mm 66 for o5. But they lowerd the ride height even more on both forks for 06 so you should be fine. My friend Jesse has a 05 888 in 200mm with flat crowns on his gemini.

So there is a possibility of doing some major damage by increasing the travel by 40mm or so over the Shermans that the Gemini came with??? I was thinking about an 888 200mm with stock crowns.

My friend hits some nasty big stuff on his gemini with a 05 888 and he broke the main frame at the rear shock mount and never once had a problem with his. He now has a new front end and still has no problems with it! It came stock with the 888 on his bike so I'd say you are fine with it on there!

Here's the deal. The Breakout is about 552mm A-C, the 2005 888rc w/stock crowns is 605mm. 50mm == 2 inches and about 2.3 degrees.

64.7! Too slack for me, but probably OK for some.

Yeah, but gemini2000 keeps asking what it would be like with the STOCK CROWNS. With the stock crowns it would put more stress on the HT, enough to shear it off, who knows.

Using the flat crowns his HA would be around 66 degrees.

Having to buy aftermarket crowns for the 888 always bugged me. I never bought an 888 because of that. 04's and 05's are stupid high. The 66's were even worse.
