What is the difference between the 2004 Marzocchi Z1 FR and Z150 .... other than travel? Do they have the same internals? HSCV cartridge? ETA?

The internals are basically the same, HSCV & ETA for both. I don't think the Z1 FR with a 20mm axle were very common, but I think I've seen a few. All Z150s had the QR20. I've got an 04 Z150 and it's quite heavy, at least a lb heavier than the Z1. I still think it's a great fork.

The spring diameters are different. If you take 05 Z1FR1 150mm springs, you can put 04 Z150 carts in a 04 Z1FR. The top caps and foot nuts are the same. I have been running mine with this mod for a year. It was cheaper than buying an 05 Z1FR1. I think the two carts and springs ran me $225 or so from Marzocchi. The older carts are a little less money.

The Z1FR SL had standard dropouts. i think the coil/oil were QR 20. At least mine is. Excellent fork! Still going after three years of abuse.
