2004 Haro XLS R3, worth it?

I've been looking for a haro xls frame for a while now, I know mtba went nuts for it in one of their recent reviews. I found a brand new complete 2004 XLS R3, which is the lowest end model, for $500 cdn, ($350 US). Not too worried about the parts as I already have an XT/LX/avid/fox part mix to go on it. If I upgrade the rear shock to a Manitou 3-way, it will essentially be the XLS r7/werks frameset correct?
Thanks

I have a Haro Escape 8.2 (hardtail) and a Werks XLS. The Werks XLS is more of a Pro model than the R series bikes. But with my experience with Haro has been a positive one. They are strong, great welds, the dropouts are designed well and also reinforced. You said that you already have a component group to put on the R3. You should check BB size and headtube length, seat tube, check the front dr ect. for example I beleive that R3 will use a integrated headset. When I removed my stock WTB headset and replaced it had to with a FSA orbit Z.
Haro makes a great long lasting product. You will be happy with it. Just get a bike thats sized correctly.
