2004 Fox F100 RLC rebound knob has no internal stop

I was making some fork adjustments today when I noticed that my rebound knob can spin either way without hitting an internal stop. Any ideas?

cent frum my fone so don't cumplane about spelling or grammer

I did some research today and seems like the rebound shaft is broken? The knob spins freely in both directions. I do get clicking but it does not stop spinning in either directions. Would a broken shaft have thes symptoms?
