I'm just about to put my 2003 Scalpel 3000 up for sale but have know idea what it's worth now. It's in good condition with full original XTR components, new generation XTR cranks, Mavic Crossmax SL wheels and a carbon Lefty.

Anyone out there have a ball park figure on what I should put it on for?

Thanks

Figure out what is the least you will take, without feeling like crying or throwing up. Stick it on eBay for that as a starting bid, and see what happens.

What it sells for (assuming it does), is what it's worth. If it doesn't sell? It wasn't even worth what your staring bid was.

No Kelly Blue Book for bikes.....

Thanks for the reply and after I posted this I realized it was a bit of a tricky one to answer! I guess I'll just have to put it out there and see what happens?

Cheers

The other option is list it at a penny, put a reserve on it so it won't sell unless it hits the amount you stipulate.

Problem with this approach is folks often bid to the reserve and stop.

If the opening bid is reasonable in many buyer eyes, you encourage more active bidding from the outset.

Or, sell it to me for $50. :p
